This is a Änisbrötli. I used to hate them as a kid, since they are made of aniseed - a taste one needs to get used to (comparable to wine, actually. And coffee!). However, nowadays I adore this traditional Swiss cookie not only for its unique flavor but also for its looks. Elderly women in the countryside (like my grandma) have huge collections of nice “models” and compete for the best looking Änisbrötli; this rose here is one of my personal favorites, too bad that it is not gonna last for long…
